Al-Namani announces an increase in the clinical forces for intensive care at the new Sohag University Hospital to reach 76 beds.

Dr. Hassan Al-Namati, President of Sohag University, announced the preparation of a medium intensive care unit for the Department of Internal Medicine with a capacity of 5 beds at the new university hospital, making the total number of intensive care beds 76 beds. This is in line with the interest that the Egyptian state, led by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, pays to the health sector, and in implementation of the university’s plan to upgrade the level of health services to meet the needs of patients.

Al-Namani confirmed that work in Sohag University hospitals is proceeding in full swing, in accordance with the comprehensive strategic plan adopted by the state to support and develop university hospitals, in addition to its keenness to contribute to many presidential initiatives such as the initiative to end waiting lists, 100 million health, the elimination of Hepatitis C and non-communicable diseases and others. He added that increasing the clinical forces for intensive care at the new university hospital contributes to eliminating waiting lists for the most needy cases of care, which helps in treating them faster. He explained that human forces have been provided from doctors and nursing staff, and operating requirements, in addition to following infection control and quality standards and applying them in a way that ensures patient health and safety.

Dr. Magdy Al-Qadi, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, explained that the new university hospital is witnessing a heavy turnout of patients, following the issuance of a decision by Dr. Hassan Al-Namani, President of the University, to transfer the reception of emergencies from the old university hospital to the new one. The hospital is fully operational; to provide its medical services at a high level of quality to patients from different governorates of Upper Egypt, adding that the hospital includes 15 beds for anesthesia care, 15 beds for neurological care, 15 beds for heart care, 10 beds for children’s care, 6 beds for chest care, in addition to 5 beds for neurosurgery care, 10 beds for medium care and injuries.
