For the first time\u2026 a shockwave device for treating \u201cbone spurs\u201d at the old Sohag University Hospital.<\/p>\n
Dr. Hassan Al-Namani, President of Sohag University, stated that due to the high demand for physiotherapy services at the old university hospital, the physiotherapy department was equipped with a \u201cshockwave\u201d device at a cost of 650,000 Egyptian pounds, to meet the increasing demand for it in treating a number of nerve-related diseases. He pointed out the importance of the role of physiotherapy for patients through their rehabilitation and treatment using the optimal use of natural body movement, and increasing the efficiency of life activities for patients with nervous system injuries.<\/p>\n
Dr. Magdy Al-Qadi, Dean of the Faculty of Human Medicine, said that the treatment of bone spurs and a package of other diseases, with shock waves is a modern technique, and has achieved good results and leads to the improvement of inflammations and thus alleviating the feeling of pain. He thanked Dr. Hassan Al-Namani, President of the University, for his continuous support to complete all the devices needed by the department, which are medically compatible with the technology of the era.<\/p>\n
Dr. Ahmed Fathi, Director of the University Hospital, explained that the cost of the device reached 650,000 Egyptian pounds, and it is the first of its kind in government hospitals in Sohag, pointing out that the price of the session is less than its counterpart outside the university hospital by 50%, and its results are positive by a large percentage.<\/p>\n
Dr. Ahmed Rashdi Al-Ajmi, Assistant Professor of Rheumatism at the Faculty of Human Medicine, added that the device is used in the treatment of inflammation of a number of diseases including tendons, peripheral nerves, bone spurs, and joint inflammation. He explained that the duration of the session does not exceed 5 minutes, and the patient needs only three sessions, and the device is safe for pregnant women and people with chronic diseases.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
