Dr. Hassan Al-Noamani, President of Sohag University, stated that 360 cases of patients attending the pain treatment unit at the old university hospital were examined and treated during the last period, after it was re-operated.<\/p>\n
He explained that the unit is considered one of the distinguished units that help in identifying the source of pain and eliminating or reducing it, using the latest technologies in diagnosis with medical and interventional treatments.<\/p>\n
Dr. Magdy Al-Qadi, Dean of the faculty of Medicine, said that the pain treatment unit received great support and interest from Dr. Hassan Al-Namani, President of the University, through his keenness to provide the unit with a thermal frequency device and a television X-ray machine, and a contract is underway to purchase a CARM X-ray machine, explaining that the unit specializes in Treating the pain of chronic diseases such as spinal pain, nerve pain, joint pain, and cancerous tumor pain.<\/p>\n
Dr. Ahmed Mohamed Al-Halouji, head of the unit, indicated that the unit works under the supervision of Dr. Fawzi Abbas, head of the Department of Anesthesia, Intensive Care, and Pain Treatment, and receives cases throughout the week, from 9 a.m. until the end of the cases, and the unit\u2019s operations are transferred to the new university hospital in New Sohag City. .<\/p>\n
