
Dr. Hassan El-Nomany, President of Sohag University, inaugurated the Magnetic Resonance Imaging Unit (MRI) at Sohag University Hospital after completing its renovation and development work. This step is part of the university’s plan to improve the healthcare system and provide accurate and modern diagnostic medical services to patients.
Dr. Hassan Al-Nomany stated that the unit’s MRI machine has been in operation since 2009 and has been updated with advanced technology and capabilities at a total cost of 28 million Egyptian pounds, marking a qualitative leap forward in the field of medical imaging within the hospital.
Dr. Magdy El-Qady emphasized that the university administration is constantly striving to support and develop the various departments within the university hospital by providing the latest medical equipment to keep pace with global developments in diagnosis and treatment. He noted that the resonance unit, after its renovation, will contribute to providing faster and more accurate service to patients.
Dr. Ahmed Kamal explained that the MRI unit operates five days a week, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., receiving approximately 30 cases daily and providing high-precision, high-quality services to all medical specialties.
Dr. Mohamed Zaki stated that the MRI unit is now qualified to perform all types of accurate imaging of the brain, spine, joints, chest, and all parts of the body. He noted that this upgrade and development of the device contributes to improving image quality and examination speed, thus supporting rapid diagnosis and treatment plans.
