
Dr. Hassan Al-Nomani, President of Sohag University, stated that a medical team in the Orthopedic Department and the Hand Surgery and Microscopic Surgery Unit, in cooperation with the Anesthesia Department at the University Hospital, succeeded in saving the arm of a 6-year-old child, after he was exposed to a very serious injury, using a “glass object”. It resulted in a complete cut of the arteries, nerves, and tendons supplying the left arm.
Al-Noamani stressed that Sohag University Hospitals, with their material and human capabilities at a high level of efficiency, have succeeded in performing many difficult and delicate operations in many specialties for free, within the framework of the service role they play to treat patients from various governorates of Upper Egypt, praising the speed of surgical Medical teams intervention., and the efforts being made to provide distinguished medical and therapeutic services.
From his part, Dr. Magdy Al-Qadi, Dean of Faculty of Medicine, said that the injured child arrived at the hospital in a very critical condition after being exposed to a deep and serious wound caused by a glass object. After medical examination by the hospital’s reception and emergency doctors, it was found that there were cuts in the nerves and arteries supplying the arm.
