
Under the patronage of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, and His Excellency Dr. Hassan Al-Namani, President of the University, and Dr. Khaled Abdel Latif Omran, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development, and under the supervision of Dr. Magdy Amin Al-Qadi, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, and Dr. Shazly Saleh Mousi, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Community Service and Environmental Development, the Faculty of Medicine (Community Service and Environmental Development Sector) organized a medical convoy to the village of Bilabish, Dar Al-Salam Center in Sohag, in cooperation with the Hayat Karima Foundation, which is sponsored by His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic. These medical convoys come due to the social responsibility that Sohag University bears to help the residents of the most needy villages in the governorate, which cannot afford the costs of examination and treatment.
Dr. Magdy stated that the convoy included 9 doctors in the specialties (bones – internal – dermatology – surgery – rheumatism – digestive system – chest – ophthalmology – children). A medical examination was signed for 475 patients and they were given free treatment.
Dr. Shazly also followed up on the organization of the clinics and facilitated the examinations for the patients, and 15 cases were transferred to the university hospitals to complete the treatment.
In addition to conducting educational awareness seminars delivered by Dr. Ahlam Abdel Salam, Professor and Head of the Speech Unit, on the following topics:
- Bullying and hearing impairment
- Awareness of the dangers of addiction among young people
- Opposition to violence against women and early marriage
- Population growth and family planning.
