In light of the significant transformations taking place in Egyptian university libraries toward digitizing their collections and keeping pace with the tremendous advancements in global information systems and modern methodologies, the Library of the Faculty of Medicine at Sohag University stands at the forefront of these developments. It is considered one of the first university libraries to implement the “Future System” of the Egyptian University Libraries Consortium, cataloging all its scientific holdings across various formats. The library fulfills its role by providing access to global databases for students and faculty members.
The library’s policy is primarily centered on serving its visitors through a dedicated administrative team that continuously works to meet their needs. This includes providing scientific books, academic theses, journals, and past exam papers, in addition to other services.
The Faculty of Medicine Library at Sohag University enjoys strong support from university leadership, particularly the esteemed President of the University and the Dean of the Faculty. This support is a key factor in enabling the library to continue its distinguished role in serving students and scholars.
