An educational seminar titled Mawada

Under the patronage of His Excellency Prof. Dr. Hassan Al-Nomani, President of the University, Prof. Dr. Abdel Nasser Yassin, Vice President of the University for Education and Students Affairs, Prof. Dr. Khaled Omran, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development, and the supervision of Prof. Dr. Magdy Al-Qadi, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Dr. Shazli Saleh Mousi, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Community Service and Environmental Development, and Prof. Dr. Ahmed Fathi Al-Nahas, Professor of Public Health and Community Medicine and the Executive Director of University Hospitals, the Faculty of Medicine (Community Service and Environmental Development Sector) organized a seminar “Affection” as part of the activities and events of the national project to preserve the entity of the Egyptian family by conducting a training workshop with the aim of qualifying young people who are about to get married with all the information that enables them to build a healthy family.

Dr. Magdy opened the seminar, explaining that the state has developed a strategy related to women’s health to build a stable family. He also talked about the harms resulting from cousin marriage and underage marriage, in addition to elaborately discussing the population issue.

Dr. Shazli also spoke on this topic, suggesting the idea of conducting specialized seminars and training studies. Finally, a training workshop was conducted by Dr. Ahmed Al-Nahas, which included 120 male and female students on the following topics:

  • Awareness of the population issue
  • Opposition to female circumcision and early marriage
  • Violence against women and children
  • Reproductive health

This training received a great interaction from the male and female students as an effective participation.
